Donor management and volunteer management go hand in hand. People who have been helping you one way have already been “primed”, so if they cannot help you in deed, maybe they can help you with a donation. Don’t underestimate this link, and treat both groups equally.
And just like volunteers, your donors give of their material wealth to you and the cause you serve because they care. Always keep in mind that they could have chosen somebody else and another cause, but it was you and your work that impressed them. Keep it that way.
